This is the left side of my ankle after getting a chance to clean it up some. The dark red is dried blood that is under tape that is protecting the stitches. The stitches are the kind that will eventually disappear on their own. It's hard to tell what the scar will eventually look like. The lighter red going up my leg is part of the bruising. Part of the reason the splint hurt so much was because it tended to rest on this bruise when I stood up.
